Choose Ohio First Scholarship

Choose Ohio First Scholarship program supports future nursing and gaming students and offers a limited number of scholarship for students from economically disadvantaged regions of Ohio and undeserved populations.

Students will:

1.) Connect with mentors who understand their challenges and can offer advice
2.) Become more socially and academically integrated into the SSU community
3.) Transition academically, socially, and emotionally to university life
4.) Develop a sense of identity and pride for attending and pursuing a degree from college
5.) Transition from the academic and university life into careers and graduate schools.

By volunteering to be a Choose Ohio First mentor, you will be matched with a Shawnee State student with in the nursing or gaming major. The method of contact and number of contacts is up to you.

Requirements of the program:

1.) Mentors and students connect by best method for both
2.) Meet in person once a semester
2.) Meet at social in mid-December
